MRP vs NRP vs SDP: Jaquar Group pricing explained
If you sell Jaquar Group products — Jaquar, Essco or Artize — you have seen three rates printed against the same item: MRP, NRP and SDP. They are all selling rates you can quote to a customer, not your purchase cost. Knowing which one to use, and when, is the difference between protecting your margin and losing a price-sensitive deal to the dealer down the road.
This guide explains what each rate means in plain language, when to quote each, and how to switch between them in one tap inside mydraft.
What the three rates mean
Every Jaquar Group product carries three standard rates. Here is what each one stands for.
- MRP — Maximum Retail Price
- The highest price at which the product may be sold to an end customer, inclusive of all taxes. It is the printed list rate and your ceiling — you can quote at MRP, but you never quote above it. Use it when a customer is buying on brand and convenience rather than price.
- NRP — Net Retail Price
- A standard published selling rate that sits below MRP. It is the everyday rate most showrooms quote to a walk-in customer — competitive enough to feel like a genuine offer, while still leaving healthy margin. Think of NRP as your default selling price for Jaquar Group items.
- SDP — Standard Dealer Price
- The most competitive selling rate for Jaquar Group products (Jaquar, Essco and Artize). It sits below NRP and is the rate you reach for when you need to win a price-sensitive customer or close a large project. It is a sharp selling rate — not a guarantee of your buying cost — so quote it deliberately, with your own margin in mind.
When to quote each rate
The three rates form a simple ladder from full retail down to your sharpest offer. Where you land on the ladder depends on the customer in front of you.
- Quote MRP when the customer is not negotiating on price — a quick single-item replacement, a premium Artize buyer, or anyone buying purely on brand and trust.
- Quote NRP for the everyday walk-in. It is your standard selling rate — competitive, fair and the right starting point for most quotations.
- Quote SDP when the deal is genuinely price-sensitive — a comparison shopper, a builder placing a bulk order, or a project where one sharp number wins the whole bathroom. Reserve your most competitive rate for the moment it actually changes the outcome.
A word of caution: MRP, NRP and SDP are all selling rates, not your invoice cost. Always sanity-check the final number against your own buying terms before you commit — especially on SDP, where the cushion is thinnest.
How to switch rates in mydraft.
In mydraft, every Jaquar Group product already carries all three rates — MRP, NRP and SDP — pulled from India's largest sanitaryware catalogue. You never look them up in a printed price list again.
Add a Jaquar, Essco or Artize product to a quotation and the rate is shown right on the line. Tap the rate to switch between MRP, NRP and SDP — the line total and the quotation total update instantly. Every other brand quotes at your own price, so a single quotation can mix Jaquar Group rates with your custom pricing on Kohler, Grohe, Cera or Hindware.
The finished PDF carries product photos, itemised pricing, GST-ready HSN codes and a UPI QR pre-filled with the total. See it alongside the rest of the toolkit on the features page, or read how Jaquar Group dealers quote with it in our customer stories.
Which brands have MRP / NRP / SDP
The three-rate structure is specific to the Jaquar Group. These three brands carry MRP, NRP and SDP on every product:
- Jaquar — the flagship bath fittings and sanitaryware range.
- Essco — the value range within the group.
- Artize — the premium luxury range.
Every other brand in the catalogue — Kohler, Grohe, Cera, Hindware and 1,000+ more — does not use MRP / NRP / SDP. For those, you simply quote at your own price. mydraft. handles both in the same quotation, so you are never juggling two systems. Ready to try it? See pricing and start a free trial.
